In Loving Memory of Cathy Veres ♡

In the summer of 2010, when Taylor was only 11, the Veres family was unexpectedly struck by tragedy when Taylor’s Mom, Cathy Veres, was diagnosed with aggressive pancreatic cancer. Despite this tragic diagnosis and the unpromising prognosis, Taylor, Cathy and the entire Veres family never gave up; they truly embodied the spirit of life and didn’t allow these tragic circumstances to defeat them.

Right after being diagnosed, Cathy underwent the Whipple procedure to attempt to remove the cancer. Unfortunately, however, this did not succeed. For three years, Cathy continued to battle cancer. And, on April 24th, 2013, Cathy passed away - Taylor was only 13.

Since her Mom’s passing, Taylor continues to honour her Mom every day through embodying her vibrant spirit. Furthermore, Taylor honours her Mom through supporting the Palliative Care Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, where Cathy spent the majority of the end of her life.

Inevitably, Taylor continues to struggle with losing her Mom at such a young age; however, she has learned to navigate her grief. Today, Taylor serves as a fantastic role model and inspiration for her two younger siblings and her abundance of friends. Your Mom would be so proud of you, Taylor!
